　 ○校区の紹介　About the School District
　
　校区は，広々とした畑や杉林が続く農村地域です。
　主要産業は，農業，畜産業等ですが，特に競走馬の産地として有名です。
　町役場からは離れているため，学校と隣接して野方支所が設置されています。
　国道２６９号線に面しており，鹿屋市や都城市との交流も盛んです。
　地域の教育への関心は高く，また協力的であり，ＰＴＡ活動も活発で，子供たちの健全育成に向けて精力的に取り組んでいます。
　校区内に「照日神社」があります。これは元禄2年（1688年）荒佐野住民が大阪から移住するにあたり、伊勢神宮から勧請し伊勢神社と称していましたが、明治8年に照日神社と合祀されて以来，照日神社と呼んでいます。
　毎年3月第2日曜日に「照日神社春祭り」が開催されています。荒佐祭りでは､古くから伝わる神舞の奉納や歌謡大会・剣道大会が行われるほか､植木市や出店等が立ち並び､終日大勢の人々で賑わいます。

　　Our school district is located in a vast farm and
woodland area. The chief industry is agriculture
and stockbreeding, especially race horse breeding.
　　Due to the distance from the public office,the
Nogata Branch Office was established near our
school.
　　 There is easy access to Kanoya and Miyakonojo
because the school lies near Route 269.
　　People in our area hold great importance in
education. We work together through PTA activities
to ensure our children grow up properly.
　 Teruhi Shrine is in our school district.
When the Arasano people moved from Osaka to
here in 1688. it was called Ise Shrine. Ｓince it
merged with Teruhi Shrine in 1877, it has been
called Teruhi Shrine.
　　The Spring Festival is held at Teruhi Shrine every
2nd Sunday of March. The festival includes a dance
dedicated to the shrine's god, live music, and kendo.
In addition, there is a plant fair and many vendor
stalls on the street. It is a popular event that
attracts many people .
